The government has put on notice private recruitment agencies which violate the recruitment procedures of domestic workers. Labour and social Protection Cabinet Secretary Florence Bore says already 26 private recruitment agencies have been deregistered for going against set regulations. She was speaking during a tour of the Kenya School of Government to assess the state of preparedness to host the 3 days Kenya Social Protection conference 2023 which will kick off Monday.

Starting June this year, cash transfers for the needy and vulnerable Kenyans will be disbursed before the salaries of public servants are paid. Speaking at the social protection conference in nairobi, President Ruto said the government is committed to providing safety nets to the vulnerable, and has set aside 28 billion shillings to support cash transfer programs to Inua Jamii, including persons living with disability as well as provide a hunger safety net for drought stricken families
